What is Age is More?

Age is More is the name of our social cause of choice, and is a key part of our Revera Giving program. Our goal is to challenge ageism – the negative attitudes, stereotypes and preconceptions that prevent older persons from living their lives to the fullest. We will do this by showcasing and celebrating the ageless spirit of older people.

What is ageism?

Ageism can be defined in a number of ways. It can be a way of thinking about and behaving towards older people based on negative attitudes and stereotypes about aging. It can also be the tendency to structure society based on the assumption that everyone is young, and thereby failing to respond appropriately to the real needs of older people.

Why did Revera choose ageism as a social cause?

With 50 years of experience serving seniors, we can speak with credibility and passion about the magnificent contributions older people make to our communities, and the joy with which they live life.

Age is More exemplifies our commitment to help seniors live their lives to the fullest. We have aligned ourselves with this important issue because we believe we can make a difference.

How will Age is More address ageism?

Through research, commentary and storytelling, Age is More aims to challenge the negative attitudes, stereotypes and preconceptions that prevent older people from living their lives to the fullest. More than simply shedding light on the realities of ageism, Age is More is about showcasing and celebrating the ageless spirit of older people.
